Hello, I’m Alice!
I’m a science writer from Canada, now based in Brooklyn, New York.
I write about science, the natural world and the human experience
My journalism covers science’s quest for knowledge and how it often intersects with policy, decision-making, and livelihoods. My work has appeared in Scientific American, National Geographic, Nautilus, Science, Audubon, bioGraphic, Live Science, Inverse, among other outlets.
I have a bachelor’s degree in environmental biology. and hold a master’s in science, health and environmental reporting from New York University. I’m also an author of a bird field guide, occasionally write on Substack, and used to take a lot more photos.
